While entering a new house, as per the Vedic tradition, a Navagrahashaanti and Vastushaanti homa.. is performed. This acts as a remedy for any malicious influences in the house and removes the vastu doshas. The Navagraha pooja is performed in the prescribed manner with the Nava Dravyas of the 9 planets as according to astrological calculations, which is a great science; different planets have different influences on every living being. Navagraha Sooktam is recited and 108 Namavalis of all the 9 planets are recited which soothes this influence. Then Vastu Shanti pooja is performed with recitation of Sri Rudram and the pancha suktas followed by homa.. with the prescribed materials.
Ancient Vedic astrology takes account of “Nakshtra”, the arrangement of constellations of stars at the time of our birth as playing significant role in our lives. The nakshatra in which …. the moon is placed at the time of your birth is called your “Janma Nakshatra”. This ….has also got its influence on us. It indicates our attitude, physical appearance and future. It also determines the thinking pattern, destiny, instincts and also governs the subconscious aspects of personality.
To neutralize the malicious effects of the planets in their main periods (mahadasa) or sub periods(antar dasa) and to attain benefic results from the same planets the scriptures have prescribed nakshtra poojas and homas. The nakshatra is worshipped in the prescribed ritualistic manner with mantras and offerings. We get an inner strength and confidence along with desirable results. Sometimes we achieve them instantaneously and in certain cases but not always they are slow. But they are certain to occur.
Nakshatra shanti pooja is performed every year on the birth nakshtra to give protection and better results throughout the year. Seeing its significance in our lives it should be conducted atleast once a year in the month of birth or on the day your janam nakshtra falls or every month on the day our nakshtra falls to get the maximum desired benefit.
Birthday plays extreme importance in our lives. This pooja is done on the date of birth and janam tithe according to hindu calender. Tithi is an index of Sun-Moon disposition.Tithi is also useful in judging future. This is reflected through the location of the Moon at birth. Other planetary position and operation of dasa-bhukti of planets generally corroborate the findings based on birth tithi. As per the Indian Hindu Calendar, Tithi (also spelled Thithi) is the lunar date. Tithi is one of the most important aspect of the Indian Almanac or the Panchang and therefore many Hindu festivals and ceremonies are based on Tithi Calendar. A lunar calendar is based on the moon's rotation around the Earth A tithi is the time taken for the longitudinal angle between the moon and the sun to increase by 12°. A lunar month consists of 30 tithis, whose start time and duration vary. It is suggested for everyone to bring prosperity and to overcome all hurdles present in ones day to day life. While having lavish birthday parties is focused, we should begin this day with a janam tithi/nakshtra puja which is unfortunately neglected in todays society.
